SAP Prinicipal Solution Architect

Your Role

As a SAP Principal Solution Architect you will lead the reporting and analytics workstream for an assigned client transformation project within the SAP practice. Own the reporting approach, requirements and delivery plan, coordinating SAP and enterprise analytics specialists to deliver trusted business reporting aligned with the approved project scope.

   
You will play a key role in: 

• Leading business reporting discovery and fit-to-standard workshops with functional leads; capture business outcomes, KPIs, reporting personas and acceptance criteria. 
• Define the reporting strategy, rationalisation approach and platform decision framework across SAP Embedded Analytics, BDC / Datasphere, SAC and enterprise BI. 
• Assess existing reports and new requirements; identify standard content, gaps, duplicates and retirement opportunities, and maintain requirements of traceability. 
• Translate agreed requirements into a prioritised reporting backlog, delivery estimates and release plan; manage scope of assumptions and change requests. 
• Coordinate end-to-end reporting designs with functional, data platform, security and integration teams, ensuring consistent measures and data ownership. 
• Lead onshore and offshore analysts and developers; oversee design quality, delivery progress, dependencies, risks and stakeholder communications. 
• Define the reporting test and reconciliation approach; coordinate system integration testing, user acceptance testing and business sign-off. 
• Oversee reporting deployment, user enablement, adoption and support handover; ensure project deliverables meet agreed quality and acceptance standards. 

Your Profile

• 12+ years in data, reporting and analytics, including at least 3 years leading reporting workstreams on large transformation projects. 
• Experience leading reporting delivery through discovery, design, build, testing and deployment on at least two enterprise programmes, including an SAP S/4HANA transformation. 
• Strong understanding of the roles of SAP Embedded Analytics, SAP BDC / Datasphere and SAC, and how these integrate with enterprise BI platforms. 
• Ability to challenge requirements, demonstrate standard reporting options with platform specialists, and make defensible platform and customisation recommendations. 
• Experience in report rationalisation, KPI definition, backlog management, effort estimation, scope control and requirements traceability. 
• Working knowledge of data modelling, source dependencies, authorisation requirements and reconciliation across business domains such as Finance, Sales and Procurement. 
• Strong executive communication, workshop facilitation and team leadership, with the ability to resolve cross-workstream dependencies and delivery issues.
