Network Test Engineer

Your Role

  
As a Network Test Engineer your role includes designing and executing test plans for network infrastructure, developing automation for testing, and troubleshooting complex network issues to ensure performance, security, and reliability. Key responsibilities also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, analyzing test results, documenting findings, and suggesting improvements for network stability and scalability.

This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide or Hobart.

You will play a key role in:

• Test planning and execution: Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans for network infrastructure, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Automation: Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for network environments to streamline the testing process.
• Troubleshooting: Analyze and troubleshoot complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to define network requirements, analyze designs, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for network status, test results, and standard operating procedures.
• Security: Implement and test network security measures, such as access authentication and disaster recovery protocols.
• Performance analysis: Monitor network performance, analyze data, and suggest improvements for network capacity and performance. 

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience as a network engineer and testing functions.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, equipment such as routers, switches, and telco network software.
• Experience with network automation tools such as IXIA, Spirent, TestShell will be highly beneficial.
• Proficiency in scripting or coding languages and automation tools.
• Experience with cloud networking (VM’s AWS, Azure, GCP) would be good to have
• Professional certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar, are highly desirable
