AWS Cloud Architect

Your Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Architect to join Capgemini, specializing in the design and delivery of secure, resilient, and scalable hybrid and multi‑cloud architectures across AWS and Microsoft Azure. 

In this role, you will lead the architecture, migration, and modernisation of complex enterprise environments spanning on‑premises infrastructure, private cloud, and hyperscale public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure). You will partner closely with security, application, and delivery teams to embed security‑by‑design, resilience, governance, and compliance from initial architecture through accreditation and ongoing operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and lead large‑scale migrations from on‑premises and private cloud environments to AWS and Azure.
  • Design and deliver cloud‑native and hybrid solutions that meet performance, availability, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement cloud adoption strategies, landing zones, and governance models across AWS and Azure.
  • Conduct infrastructure and application assessments and define migration and modernisation roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with platform, DevOps, security, and application teams to ensure end‑to‑end architectural alignment.
  • Define, document, and enforce cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural oversight to cloud engineering teams.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to align cloud strategy with business and transformation objectives.

Your Profile

Technical Skills & Expertise:

Cloud Architecture & Strategy

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • AWS Well‑Architected Framework and Microsoft Azure Well‑Architected Framework.
  • AWS Landing Zones, Control Tower, and Azure Landing Zones / Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
  • Multi‑cloud and hybrid cloud architecture design.

Migration & Modernisation 

  • AWS migration tools (AWS Migration Hub, Application Migration Service, Database Migration Service).
  • Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Resource Mover.
  • Legacy workload modernisation strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, retain).
  • Application and database migration planning and execution.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) 

  • Terraform (preferred), ARM Templates, Bicep, AWS CloudFormation.
  • Git‑based version control and CI/CD integration.

Automation & Scripting 

  • PowerShell, Bash, Python.
  • AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Systems Manager.
  • Azure Automation, Logic Apps, Azure Functions.

DevOps & CI/CD 

  • Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
  • Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Managed Kubernetes platforms: EKS (AWS) and AKS (Azure).
  • CI/CD pipeline integration and release management.

Networking & Connectivity 

  • AWS VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN.
  • Azure VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Private Link.
  • DNS, traffic management, and hybrid connectivity design.

Security & Identity 

  • Azure AD / Entra ID, IAM (AWS), RBAC, Managed Identities.
  • Key Vault, Secrets Manager.
  • AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty; Azure Defender for Cloud, Sentinel.
  • Zero Trust architecture and alignment with frameworks (ISO, NIST, CIS). 

Monitoring & Optimisation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) and/or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and enterprise IT environments.
  • Proven experience leading complex AWS and/or Azure migration and transformation programs.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
