Job Description
The SDA/DNAC Engineer is the top-level support for a complex global network Capgemini is supporting. Focus area of this position is primarily on SDA/DNAC managed fabric sites. The responsibilities of this position often exist in engineering or architecture teams. This position will partner with those teams to ensure seamless integration into the production environment and the support structure. This role will be engaged at times to participate in incidents that have exceeded the ability of Tier2 to resolve. The scope of this position spans the data network, wireless devices and numerous applications. A strong understanding of monitoring tools and techniques is required.
General Roles/Requirements
- Address and resolve escalated operational issues from ACC Tier 2, and ensure comprehensive documentation and training are in place to enable Tier 2 ownership of future occurrences.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering work accurately and within established SLA timeframes.
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure adherence to procedures, escalation protocols, and effective communication practices.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and client-side Engineering and Architecture teams through regular engagement and collaboration.
- Proactively pursue continuous improvement by expanding technical skill sets and staying current with emerging technologies.
- Act as the primary intake for new systems and processes, ensuring they are fully monitored, documented, and supportable prior to production deployment.
- Contribute to problem management initiatives involving engineering and architectural components, driving resolution and long-term stability.
- Provide mentorship to Tier 2 personnel in event handling and response strategies, fostering operational excellence.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
Technical Responsibilities and Requirements –
- Expert level experience with routing and switching via DNAC/Cisco Catalyst Center.
- Assure operational readiness for new projects and devices being added to the network
- Extensive support of routing protocols/technologies such EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS, Logical Overlay, Spanning Tree
- High level experience with Cisco DNA Center/Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Catalyst IOS-XE (9600, 9500, 9400, 9300, 9200)
- Assist with remediating major impacting service interruptions as required
- Perform or participate in complex maintenance or deployment activities
- Execute and analyze packet captures using Netscout NGenius, Wireshark and other related technologies
- Serve as extensions of the leadership team as directed for workload management and routine guidance
- Identify, recommend and implement changes to documentation standards
- Assist management with determining suitable training and areas of technical need within the team
- Routinely mentor junior staff in areas of process, technology, execution and other areas
- Partner with the NMS tools team to develop new monitoring techniques and refine existing
- Create or modify documentation in response to new events and learning’s
- Routinely provide constructive feedback for improvement opportunities

- Experience with data center technologies such as: Cisco HSRP, Cisco VRF Lite, Cisco VPC, Cisco LACP, Cisco Fabric Path, Cisco GSS, Cisco CSS, Citrix NetScaler, Juniper VRRP, Juniper VLANs & Trunking, Juniper Layer 3 RVIs, Juniper Virtual Chassis, F5 LTM, F5 GTM, Netscout, Zone Security
- Background in Cisco Nexus technologies including Cisco Nexus FEX, Cisco Nexus 5K & Cisco Nexus 7K
- WAN experience including BGP, IS-IS, Logical Overlay, IOS-XR, MPLS VPN, Multicast, Riverbed WAN accelerators, Cisco IOS XR based systems
- Experience supporting carrier circuits and related termination equipment including E1/T1/DS3/GIG E, 10 GIG E
- Wireless infrastructure including Aruba Airwave, Aruba Controller, Aruba 7200 Mobility, Aruba Activate, Clearpass, Aruba ap’s Rap3/ Rap155/ 303H/ 203R/ 225/205H * Cisco DNAC, *Cisco 9800, Cisco 8510 Cisco 5508, Cisco 2504 Cisco Prime, Cisco AP’s 3802I/1131 / 1242, 3602 / 3702I, etc , 802.11 a/g/n/ac
Education/Experience:
- Three or more of the following certifications strongly preferred CCNP-X, ACSP, ACMP, RCSP
- Expert level knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP Protocol Suite
- Advanced to expert knowledge of TCP/IP network routing and switching
- Expert knowledge of packet capture methodologies, tools and analysis
- Strong understanding of application communication methodologies
- Experience with Network and/or application Architecture & Engineering with expert level knowledge
- 10+ years or more combined experience in operational and engineering roles
- High level of confidence and effectiveness in communicating during incident bridges and critical events.
- Solid experience in vendor management to facilitate incident resolution.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and strategies.
Work Environment:
- On-site/remote hybrid, with flexibility for on-call responsibilities including weekends.
- Periodic travel for deployments, training, or conferences may be required.
- Working closely with network engineers, security teams, and management to ensure comprehensive security for the organization.
