Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong exposure to customer journey design, regulatory change, and complex banking system landscapes. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working across both agile and waterfall delivery models and will be confident engaging and challenging senior stakeholders.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Journey Mapping:
Ability to design, analyse, and optimise end‑to‑end customer journeys, identifying pain points, dependencies, and improvement opportunities. - Regulatory Change Analysis:
Experience interpreting and shaping workstreams aligned to FCA regulatory requirements, including distinguishing exposure scope vs. new regulatory obligations. - Account Opening & Onboarding Expertise:
Strong, hands-on knowledge of account opening processes, customer due diligence (CDD/KYC), and general onboarding workflows across banking products. - Business & Technical Understanding:
- Ability to understand and assess complex As‑Is system landscapes across multiple banking domains.
- Awareness of technical components, APIs, data flows, and system dependencies (technical expertise preferred but not mandatory).
- Stakeholder Engagement:
Confident in challenging senior stakeholders on ambiguity, scope gaps, and prioritisation.
Able to drive clarity and maintain focus on business value. - Design Thinking Skills:
Experience in producing customer‑centric designs, wireframes, workflow diagrams, or service blueprints (desirable). - Documentation & Artefact Creation:
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to produce high‑quality artefacts such as BRDs, user stories, process flows, data mappings, and impact assessments. - Regulatory Project Experience:
Previous exposure to regulatory initiatives within Banking or Financial Services (e.g., FCA regulations, AML/KYC requirements, consumer duty, etc.). - Delivery Methodologies:
Proven experience gathering and managing requirements in both waterfall and agile environments.

Essential Skills
- Business Analyst: 7–10 years (or minimum of 4–6 depending on complexity exposure).
- Proven experience within Banking or Financial Services domains is required.
- Requirements Gathering experience.
- Previous experience working on Regulatory initiatives within the financial sector.
- Strong experience in customer journey mapping, including identifying pain points and opportunities.
- Ability to understand and analyse complex business systems and As-Is landscapes across all areas of the bank.
- Understanding of FCA regulations, including the ability to define and shape exposure scope in line with new regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to operate within regulatory-driven projects, ensuring compliance and traceability of requirements.
- Awareness of technical concepts and the ability to collaborate effectively with technology teams.
- Design experience (e.g., wireframes, process design, service design) is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of Account Opening processes.
- Strong understanding of Customer Onboarding, including operational, compliance, and customer experience aspects.
- Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
