We have an exciting opportunity to join Capgemini as a Cloud Engineer specialising in Azure Local, supporting one of our public sector clients and contributing across our extensive client portfolio.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

As an integral part of Cloud Infrastructure Services delivery unit, you’ll have fantastic opportunities to develop both yourself and our collective capabilities as you progress both project and foundational requirements with other likeminded engineers. As part of the team, you’ll be empowered to:

  • Supporting the operation of Azure Local environments, including compute, storage, and networking components
  • Assisting with cluster lifecycle activities such as deployments, patching, upgrades, and basic health checks
  • Maintain platform availability and stability, including monitoring and responding to alerts
  • Supporting network configuration activities, including VLANs, host networking, and connectivity services
  • Applying basic security controls, including access management and RBAC
  • Using tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Participating in incident, change, and problem management processes as part of a wider team
  • Contributing to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing within the Pod

Your skills and experience

  • Knowledge of Azure or hybrid cloud platforms, with an understanding of core infrastructure components (compute, storage, networking). Exposure to Windows Server, virtualisation, or platform operations is a distinct advantage
  • Awareness of networking concepts (IP,VLAN, connectivity) within an IT environment
  • Basic scripting knowledge, Azure management tools, or Infrastructure as Code a distinct advantage
  • Good understanding of IT service management processes (incident/change/problem).

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
 
 
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
