About the Job you are considering:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Business Analyst to support a strategic transformation program involving the replacement of a core Outwards Reinsurance Platform and integration with a modern enterprise data ecosystem.

The successful candidate will possess strong London Market Insurance and Reinsurance expertise, combined with extensive experience in business analysis, data migration, SaaS integrations, API orchestration, and stakeholder management. This role will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, architects, vendors, and delivery teams.

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role:

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and operational requirements.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and manage business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Develop:
  • User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
  • Functional Specifications
  • Gap Analysis Documents
  • Process Flows and UML Diagrams
• Maintain end-to-end traceability between requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
  
  

Reinsurance Platform Transformation

• Support the replacement and modernization of the Outwards Reinsurance platform.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Define pilot migration scope, success criteria, and validation processes.
• Investigate migration issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Validate migrated data and business outcomes to ensure successful implementation.
  
  

Integration & Technical Analysis
Analyze SaaS platform integrations and technical architecture documentation.

• Work closely with architects and technical teams to define:
  • API integrations
  • Data mappings
  • Automation workflows
  • Interface specifications
• Translate technical requirements into actionable development work items.
  
  

Agile Delivery Support

• Refine requirements into Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks within Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and solution workshops.
• Support Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Collaborate with development and testing teams throughout the SDLC.
  
  

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with business leaders, SMEs, architects, and vendors.
• Facilitate workshops and decision-making sessions.
• Mentor and coach Business Analysts across complex initiatives.
• Influence project outcomes through effective negotiation and stakeholder engagement.
  
  

Required Experience

• 10+ years of Business Analysis experience delivering IT or Digital Transformation projects within Commercial Insurance.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • London Market Insurance
  • Lloyd’s Market
  • Reinsurance Operations
  • MGA Operating Models
• Experience with:
  • Outwards Reinsurance systems
  • Core Insurance Platform implementations
  • Greenfield implementations
  • Data Migration programs
• Proven experience in SaaS integrations, APIs, data transfers, and automation solutions.
• Hands-on experience managing requirements within Azure DevOps and/or Jira.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
