Strategic Workforce Planning and Workforce Management are increasingly critical to our clients as they respond to AI, automation, skills scarcity, new operating models, cost pressure and the need to deliver major programmes at pace.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a senior leadership role in scaling our Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) and Workforce Management (WFM) capability, building on strong market demand and a significant pipeline across energy and utilities, public sector, defence, consumer products and other complex, asset- and workforce-intensive sectors.

YOUR ROLE:

In a world of digital transformation, AI-enabled operating models and scarce critical skills, organisations need to understand the workforce they have today, the capabilities they will need tomorrow, and the interventions required to close the gap. As a Strategic Workforce Planning and Workforce Management Director, you will lead major client engagements that connect business strategy, workforce demand, workforce supply, skills, location, cost, capacity and productivity into practical plans that clients can implement and sustain.

You will engage with senior clients to shape, sell and deliver end-to-end SWP and WFM programmes. This will include establishing SWP capability, designing workforce planning operating models, building scenario-based workforce plans, improving operational workforce management, sharpening critical skills strategies, and enabling clients to make better decisions on whether to buy, build, borrow, bind, bot, bounce or balance capability.

You will also play a key role in helping Capgemini Invent convert and deliver a growing pipeline of SWP / WFM opportunities, including major programmes where senior leadership, client credibility, delivery control and market eminence are essential.

In this role you will:

  • Generate c.£2m annual consulting sales in Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP), Workforce Management (WFM) and Workforce Transformation services through senior client relationships and market credibility.
  • Lead the development, conversion and delivery of complex SWP and WFM programmes, including workforce strategy, demand and supply modelling, skills planning, productivity improvement and transformation roadmaps.
  • Advise senior clients on critical workforce decisions, integrating workforce planning with operating models, organisation design, AI, automation, talent and location strategies.
  • Provide executive leadership across client engagements, creating board-ready recommendations, managing delivery quality and driving measurable business outcomes.
  • Build and develop high-performing consulting teams, whilst contributing to practice growth through thought leadership, propositions and market eminence.

As part of your role, you will contribute to the business and your own personal growth through:

  • Business Development – shaping account strategies, driving growth, leading pursuit activity and converting SWP/WFM opportunities.
  • Client Delivery – leading complex transformation programmes from diagnosis through implementation, ensuring quality, governance and impact.
  • AI Enablement – leveraging and showcasing Capgemini's AI upskilling journey and AI-enabled workforce transformation capabilities.
  • Internal Contribution – developing offers, methodologies, assets, credentials, recruitment activity and practice capability.
  • Learning & Networking – building expertise and collaborating across Capgemini, Data & AI, Technology, Frog and global Workforce & Organisation teams.

YOUR PROFILE:

As a Strategic Workforce Planning and Workforce Management Director, you will bring significant consulting or industry experience, with a proven track record of selling, leading and delivering workforce transformation programmes. You will combine strategic workforce expertise with strong commercial acumen, senior stakeholder management and consulting leadership capabilities.

You will have proven experience in several of the following capability areas:

  • Strategic Workforce Planning, including demand and supply modelling, scenario planning, critical skills identification and workforce interventions.
  • Workforce Management, operational planning, capacity management, productivity improvement and resource optimisation.
  • Workforce Analytics, workforce planning technologies, people analytics and HRIS/HCM platforms.
  • Skills-based organisations, talent strategies, future skills, AI-enabled workforce transformation and organisational design.
  • Leading complex transformation programmes, managing senior stakeholders and delivering business outcomes in ambiguous environments.

You will bring:

  • A strong track record of business development, client relationship management and delivering consulting sales targets of c.£2-3m annually.
  • Credibility with C-suite, HR, Finance, Operations, Technology and Transformation leaders, translating workforce insights into business decisions.
  • Experience building, leading and developing consulting teams, including coaching, recruitment and capability development.
  • Strong commercial and delivery management skills, including profitability, delivery quality and growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with an entrepreneurial approach to building capability and driving growth.
