Solution Architect - Telco

About the job you’re considering

Capgemini is seeking a Delivery-focussed Solution Architect with deep telecoms experience – including mobile, fixed, broadband, satellite; along with broad IT experience to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance network and IT solutions. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll shape technical direction, ensure architectural integrity, and drive value across complex delivery projects and programmes. You’ll work across the full delivery lifecycle—from early engagement and requirements definition through to architecture, design, assurance, integration, and operational handover—partnering with stakeholders across Capgemini, client organisations, and third-party suppliers.

This is an opportunity to influence strategic outcomes, contribute to national-scale programmes, and work at the intersection of technology, compliance, and innovation.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

•Lead the creation and maintenance of architectural and design work and documentation (HLDs, LLDs, interface and sub-system specifications) across project lifecycles for end-to-end solutions comprising telecom elements and broader IT elements.

•Provide technical assurance, governance, and value-for-money assessments for telecom solutions – including mobile, fixed, broadband, satellite and a broad range of  IT solutions.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver integrated, secure solutions.

•Act as the primary technical contact for telecom operators and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and solution integration.

•Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, legal frameworks (e.g., IPA 2016, GDPR), and security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, TSA).

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini building an inclusive future is part of everyday life and will be part of your working reality. We have built a representative and welcoming environment, for everyone.

Your skills and experience

•5–10 years’ experience delivering technical solutions in telecoms – including mobile, fixed, broadband, satellite and enterprise IT environments, including authoring and assuring HLDs/LLDs and interface specifications.

•Proven ability to design and integrate IT systems (e.g. CRM, DWH, analytics, reporting, logging, security, middleware, databases, data platforms, bespoke IT solutions) with Telco technologies (e.g. provisioning, OSS, BSS, IMS, NAT/CGNAT, MAP-T, NAT64, IPv4/IPv6), including Big Data and data governance.

•Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), hybrid/private data centres, and CI/CD tools (Kubernetes, Docker, GitOps, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).

•Experience leading multi-supplier teams, collaborating in a ‘one-team’ approach, and working in highly regulated environments (e.g., telecoms service providers, telecoms suppliers, government and other third-parties).

•Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with a solid grasp of software engineering principles and compliance with legal, technical, and audit requirements.
