Job Role: Senior DLT / Smart Contract Engineering Lead (Capital Markets & Banking)
Role Summary:
Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade blockchain solutions within regulated financial environments. This role focuses on smart contract engineering, tokenized securities, digital cash integration, and secure, compliant DLT platforms for capital markets, payments, and settlement systems.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time
Job Role:
Blockchain & Solution Delivery
- Design and implement distributed ledger solutions for:
- Capital markets
- Payments
- Custody and settlement systems
- Deliver production-grade blockchain systems for:
- Banks
- Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs)
- Exchanges and regulated fintechs
- Integrate on-chain logic with off-chain enterprise systems:
- Core banking platforms
- Central Securities Depositories (CSDs)
- Payment rails
- Regulatory reporting systems
Smart Contract Engineering
- Develop, test, audit, and deploy secure Solidity-based smart contracts
- Implement advanced contract logic for:
- Asset issuance, transfer, and redemption
- Lifecycle event management
- Settlement workflows (DvP, escrow, atomic swaps)
- Design and implement:
- Token standards (fungible, NFT, hybrid securities)
- Gas-optimized smart contract architectures
- Upgradeable contract patterns
Tokenisation & Digital Cash
- Build and manage tokenisation frameworks for:
- Securities and financial instruments
- Tokenized assets across lifecycle stages
- Work with digital cash instruments:
- Stablecoins
- Tokenized bank deposits
- On-chain cash leg representations for DvP
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for on-chain financial products
Blockchain Platforms & Standards
- Work across both public and permissioned DLT platforms:
- Ethereum
- Hyperledger Besu
- Corda
- Apply enterprise blockchain standards for:
- Privacy
- Interoperability
- Tokenized securities markets
Security, Custody & Cryptography
- Ensure secure smart contract design by addressing:
- Reentrancy attacks
- Access control vulnerabilities
- Precision/overflow issues
- Design custody and wallet solutions using:
- MPC (Multi-Party Computation)
- HSM-backed signing
- Policy-based wallet controls
- Implement privacy-preserving mechanisms:
- Permissioned access models
- Selective disclosure
- Zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) concepts
Cloud, DevOps & Engineering Excellence
- Build and deploy cloud-native applications on:
- AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Operate containerized systems using:
- Kubernetes
- Microservices architectures
- Implement DevSecOps practices:
- CI/CD pipelines for smart contracts and backend services
- Automated testing and security scanning
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Ensure production reliability through:
- Monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Observability frameworks
- Secure secrets and key management
Job Skills
Experience
- 12+ years of software engineering experience
- 4–6+ years of hands-on smart contract development
- Proven experience in regulated environments (banks, FMIs, exchanges, fintechs)
- Strong exposure to capital markets and post-trade systems
Core Technical Skills
- Solidity smart contract development (advanced level)
- Ethereum, Hyperledger Besu, Corda
- Token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155, hybrid models)
- Smart contract lifecycle management
Financial Domain Knowledge
