Senior Project Manager

About the job you're considering

As an Engagement Manager at Capgemini, you’ll lead the successful delivery of complex client projects from initiation through to close down. You’ll own the client relationship and the contract, ensuring delivery excellence, strong governance, and full compliance while keeping the project on track across scope, risk, team leadership, and financial performance. You’ll be the trusted partner to our clients—meeting or exceeding expectations, driving value, and identifying opportunities to grow the partnership. This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of delivery leadership, commercial accountability, and exceptional client engagement.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role

You’ll take end‑to‑end ownership of complex client engagements—ensuring full compliance with Capgemini delivery standards while driving projects to successful, on‑time, on‑budget outcomes. You’ll lead governance, manage risk, control scope, and oversee financial performance, from accurate forecasting to invoicing and margin delivery. Alongside motivating high‑performing teams, you’ll build strong client relationships, exceed expectations, and identify opportunities for additional value. Agile, adaptable, and confident on client sites, you’ll work seamlessly across blended teams and consistently uphold Capgemini’s methods, security standards, and delivery excellence.

•    Lead end‑to‑end delivery of client engagements, ensuring full compliance with Capgemini’s project management standards, governance, and security requirements.
•    Own the contract and delivery baseline—managing scope, risks, issues, change control, and clear reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
•    Drive financial performance through accurate forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, and proactive management of variances and over‑runs.
•    Motivate and manage project teams, ensuring clear communication, strong leadership, and high‑quality delivery aligned to client expectations.
•    Strengthen client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional value and future business growth.

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini building an inclusive future is part of everyday life and will be part of your working reality. We have built a representative and welcoming environment, for everyone.

Your skills and experience

•    Flexible in work content and location, able to work independently and professionally on client sites while maintaining high standards of delivery and engagement.
•    Strong experience in large-scale Cloud Transformation projects
•    Proven experience delivering complex projects end‑to‑end using formal methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2), ensuring delivery to agreed scope, cost, quality and contractual obligations.
•    Strong leadership across mixed teams (Capgemini, client and third‑party), with the ability to communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, resolve conflict and build trusted client relationships.
•    Skilled in project planning, risk/issue management, change control, financial management, and use of standard tools such as UK UPM, e‑Monitoring and MS Project.
•    Confident operating within defined governance and authority levels, managing dependencies, suppliers, and distributed or multi‑cultural teams effectively.
•    Understanding of security, data protection and configuration management requirements, with the ability to manage incidents, maintain compliance and uphold Capgemini standards.
•    Commercially aware, able to support bids, identify new business opportunities, and mentor/coach team members while working flexibly and independently on client sites.
