We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mobile Solution Lead (iOS and Android) to join our Experience Design & Engineering Capability Unit. In this role, you will lead the development of innovative mobile applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability. You will work with leading organisations across financial services industry to design, build, and deliver cutting-edge mobile applications that transform customer experiences. You’ll bring expertise in native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin/Java) as well as cross-platform frameworks where relevant (Flutter, React Native), and collaborate with architects, UX designers, and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing mobile solutions for enterprise clients. You will act as a trusted advisor and technology leader, responsible for designing and delivering digital solutions for clients across banking, insurance, wealth, and capital markets. This role requires Mobile solutioning and Engineering skills with deep FSI industry knowledge and hands-on experience in designing complex enterprise and customer-facing solutions—leveraging cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, data, and emerging GenAI & Agentic AI technologies. You’ll also play a leading role in pre-sales initiatives, architecture governance, and end-to-end solution delivery within the practice and with clients.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role:
Key Responsibilities
Client engagement and co-creation
- Partner with client stakeholders to understand business ambition, customer journeys, operating constraints and measurable outcomes.
- Plan and facilitate discovery, ideation and architecture workshops that turn ambiguous challenges into a shared solution vision and actionable roadmap.
- Act as a trusted adviser to client technology, product and business leaders, constructively challenging assumptions and creating alignment across stakeholders.
- Create and deliver concise, compelling architecture narratives, executive presentations and solution demonstrations for CXO and senior governance forums.
- Explain complex technical choices in business language, including benefits, risks, dependencies, cost drivers and delivery implications.
Solution Architecture and Delivery
- Lead the design, solution definition and delivery of mobile solutions (iOS and Android) for enterprise clients.
- Own end-to-end architecture for enterprise iOS and Android solutions across native and cross-platform approaches.
- Define solution context, target architecture, integration patterns, data flows, non-functional requirements and transition roadmaps.
- Evaluate and recommend technology choices across Swift and SwiftUI, Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, React Native, Flutter and Kotlin Multiplatform where appropriate.
- Design secure integration with APIs, microservices, identity platforms, mobile backends, cloud services and enterprise systems.
- Apply appropriate architectural patterns, including Clean Architecture, modularisation, MVVM and platform-specific patterns, to support maintainability and scale.
- Architect for resilience, performance, observability, accessibility, privacy, offline capability and secure mobile lifecycle management.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, regulatory expectations and App Store / Google Play requirements.
Architecture governance and delivery assurance
- Provide architecture leadership from mobilisation through build, test, release and production operation.
- Run design reviews, manage architecture decisions and technical risks, and ensure traceability from requirements to implementation.
- Guide engineering teams on mobile standards, DevSecOps, automated testing, CI/CD, telemetry and release management.
- Mentor architects and senior engineers while contributing to mobile capability development, thought leadership and community growth.
Market Development
- Lead mobile solution shaping for RFIs, RFPs, proposals, propositions and bid-defence presentations.
- Develop solution options, estimates, assumptions, delivery models, architecture artefacts and differentiated value propositions.
- Collaborate with sales, account management, practice and COE teams to identify and pursue digital transformation opportunities and create joined-up solutions
- Articulate complex technical concepts and solution value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C-level executives.
- Identify opportunities for accelerators, reusable assets, partnerships and AI-assisted engineering to improve speed, quality and client value.
Essential experience
- Proven experience as a Mobile Solution Architect, Mobile Architect or senior mobile technology leader within complex enterprise environments.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams delivering mobile solutions
- Demonstrable success working directly with clients to co-create solutions, lead workshops and gain agreement across business and technology stakeholders.
- Strong track record presenting architecture, solution value and recommendations to CXO and senior decision-making audiences.
- Deep expertise in native iOS and Android architecture, with practical knowledge of Swift / SwiftUI and Kotlin / Jetpack Compose.
- Strong understanding of cross-platform frameworks such as React Native and Flutter, with the ability to advise when native, cross-platform or hybrid strategies are appropriate.
- Experience designing API-led and cloud-enabled mobile ecosystems, including REST, GraphQL, microservices, event-driven integration and mobile backend services.
- Deep understanding of mobile security, including OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, encryption, certificate pinning, secure storage, threat modelling and privacy-by-design.
- Experience with mobile DevSecOps, automated testing, CI/CD, code quality, application monitoring and release governance.
- Ability to create clear architecture artefacts, including context and container views, sequence diagrams, integration designs, non-functional requirements and decision records.
- Commercial and delivery awareness, with experience of scope definition, estimation, assumptions, dependencies, risks and distributed delivery models.
Financial services context
- Experience delivering or shaping customer-facing solutions in banking, insurance, wealth or capital markets is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of the security, resilience, accessibility, data protection and regulatory expectations that influence mobile solutions in financial services.
- Ability to balance customer experience, engineering quality, risk management and commercial outcomes.

- Excellent storytelling and presentation skills, supported by structured thinking and visually clear architecture material.
- Facilitation and negotiation skills that create alignment while handling challenge and competing priorities.

Desirable
- Architecture or cloud certification, such as TOGAF, AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
- Experience with mobile platform services such as Firebase, AWS Amplify or equivalent Azure / Google Cloud capabilities.
- Knowledge of mobile analytics, experimentation, feature management, design systems and digital accessibility standards.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, and awareness of GenAI and agentic AI opportunities within mobile customer journeys.
