Senior Designer with Illustration Specialism

About the job you’re considering

Do you have a passion for visual storytelling and using your creative skills for a unique purpose?

Capgemini’s Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE) is a world-class facilitation capability that enables our clients to address their most complex problems. We are looking for a curious and creative Senior Designer to join our team of designers, technologists and facilitators. We deliver from two specially designed locations in London and Telford, at client sites, via mobile delivery, and remotely to support digital engagements.

The ASE supports Capgemini’s strategic priorities through designing and delivering collaborative workshops and creating visual products that are focused on driving business outcomes and sustainable futures.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including:  identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service)

Your Role

Delivering creative projects within our ASE Visualisation Service, a capability that combines our expertise in facilitation with graphic design and illustration. As a Senior Designer, your role will focus on:

  • Grabbing the clients’ attention, taking them on a journey using illustration and graphics to capture their message
  • Working directly and building relationships with clients and senior stakeholders across the business to bring their story to life
  • Live scribing group conversations to capture compelling visual stories to elevate their messages
  • Leading the creative process end-to-end, (including managing time and project financials)
  • Providing guidance and coaching for designers to navigate complex project briefs and drive capability development
  • Playing a key role contributing to service strategy, supporting the service lead to drive key activities
  • Maintaining a calmness in the storm, keeping focused on the outcome, navigating complexity with composure and professionalism

Supporting the delivery of ASE collaborative workshops. To enable this, you will learn and deliver through a wide variety of roles that are required to run a successful event. All of these activities are equally important whether delivering in person or digitally:

  • Craft distinctive visual identities and striking graphics that set the tone and elevate every workshop experience
  • Capture presentations in real time with dynamic, engaging visuals that transform ideas into impactful stories
  • Design collaborative spaces, digital or physical that ignite creativity and maximise productivity
  • Showcase content in versatile formats tailored to diverse learning styles, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all
  • Create thought-provoking assignments with powerful questions that spark meaningful dialogue and action
  • Shape immersive soundscapes that energise the room and set the perfect atmosphere for collaboration
  • Deliver polished, cohesive outputs that distil workshop insights into clear, compelling outputs

Supporting the running of the ASE Venture. As part of the ASE team, you will have the opportunity to take a role contributing to or leading on activities such as managing our delivery environments, supporting our team culture or elevating the way we report and share our business impact.

Every engagement you’re involved in will be different and delivered with a varying team of highly motivated and effective team members. Your days will be fast paced, requiring you to work closely with colleagues and clients to support the delivery of your projects and collaborative engagements.

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini building an inclusive future is part of everyday life and will be part of your working reality. We have built a representative and welcoming environment, for everyone.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who is excited about collaboration and has a passionate skill for visual storytelling – who is keen to explore new styles and formats which keep the ASE at the cutting edge.

We’re looking for you to demonstrate:

  • A willingness to think and work differently, embracing new approaches
  • Show creativity, innovation, and curiosity in tackling challenges
  • Exhibit excellent listening, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Display self-motivation and collaboration while actively developing new skills
  • Work effectively as part of a team, contributing positively to shared goals
  • Adapt quickly in fast-changing environments, meeting tight deadlines with quality results
  • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours when required

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Experienced in delivering and managing creative projects for different contexts and clients (supported by your portfolio)
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and leading the creative process
  • Strong illustration skills – traditional and digital
  • Experienced in using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Procreate and adjacent software
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Potential capability/desire to develop in live scribing/graphic recording (physically on whiteboard walls and/or digitally on a tablet)

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.

There are other criteria and check required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
