Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: London/Northampton
Role Overview
The Business Analyst (AVP) will lead analytical activities across Financial Crime change initiatives, covering KYC, AML, Sanctions, Client Onboarding, and control‑uplift programmes. This role provides analytical leadership, shapes end‑to‑end solution design, ensures regulatory alignment, and drives decision‑making across senior stakeholders.
The AVP will support the entire change lifecycle — from scope definition and requirements gathering through to solution design, testing, readiness, and implementation — partnering closely with SMEs, Product Owners, Compliance, Technology, and Operations.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role
Key Responsibilities
1. Analysis Leadership
- Define analysis scope, approach, deliverables, and governance for Financial Crime transformation initiatives
- Lead requirements elicitation, ensuring clarity, completeness, regulatory alignment, and consistent traceability
- Challenge and refine business needs with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
2. Requirements & Process Analysis
- Produce well‑structured, testable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for cross‑functional workstreams
- Conduct detailed current‑state assessments, control evaluations, and data flow mapping
- Identify systemic gaps, process inefficiencies, dependencies, and opportunities for control enhancement
- Shape the future‑state processes, controls, and operating models, ensuring compliance, scalability, and operational efficiency
3. Stakeholder Management & Facilitation
- Influence senior stakeholders across Compliance, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Product
- Facilitate workshops to drive alignment, clarify requirements, and resolve cross‑functional challenges
- Provide analytical insight to support risk reviews, design decisions, and governance forums
4. Delivery Support & Change Execution
- Support solution design, ensuring alignment between regulatory intent, business needs, and technical feasibility
- Contribute to test strategy, coverage planning, and end‑to‑end delivery validation
- Drive business readiness activities, including:
- Training inputs
- Procedures & control documentation
- Operational readiness assurance
5. Change Adoption & Quality Assurance
- Ensure deliverables meet regulatory expectations and internal quality standards
- Support change adoption, ensuring smooth transition into BAU
- Provide leadership in root‑cause analysis and remediation planning where required
Your Job
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Extensive Business Analysis experience within Financial Crime, regulatory change, or control‑heavy environments
- Strong capability across requirements governance, process/control analysis, and multi‑team delivery
- Ability to interpret and translate regulatory expectations across AML, KYC, Sanctions into actionable change requirements
- Excellent communication, structured documentation skills, and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to drive complex analysis across large, multi‑disciplinary programmes
Desirable Skills
- Experience designing enterprise‑level operating models and control frameworks
- Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and workflow/automation platforms
- Experience working on regulatory remediation, control uplift, or enforcement‑driven programmes
- Experience mentoring and coaching Business Analysts
