Salesforce Senior Solution Architect
About the job you're considering
Capgemini’s Digital Customer Experience practice helps organisations transform how they serve and engage their customers, with a strong focus on UK public sector and other complex or regulated environments. Salesforce will be your primary technology focus, but you will design complete solutions that connect the platform with the wider enterprise landscape, including integration, data, identity, security, cloud, digital experience and operational services. You will turn business goals into clear architecture, guide delivery teams and build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
This is a senior, client-facing role for an architect who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery leadership across complex transformation programmes.
Your role
What you will do
• Lead the architecture and design of enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions from discovery through delivery and transition into operation.
• Translate business outcomes, customer journeys and operating needs into clear solution designs, roadmaps and delivery priorities.
• Lead Salesforce as the primary platform within end-to-end solutions, while objectively assessing complementary technologies where they provide the best fit for the client’s needs.
• Own key architecture outputs and decisions, ensuring assumptions, dependencies, risks and non-functional requirements are understood.
• Provide architectural governance throughout delivery, reviewing designs and resolving complex technical or cross-platform challenges.
• Guide technical and functional teams, setting proportionate standards, reusable patterns and practical engineering guardrails.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and communicate complex choices in clear business language.
• Assess build, buy, reuse and integration options based on value, cost, risk, pace and long-term sustainability.
• Shape responsible uses of data, automation and AI where they deliver measurable client value and can be governed effectively.
• Work across multi-team, multi-partner environments, aligning Salesforce decisions with enterprise architecture and delivery plans.
• Play a leading role in bids, pre-sales engagements and account growth, working with sales and delivery teams to shape compelling Salesforce-led solution visions, estimates, delivery approaches and client presentations.
• Coach developing architects and contribute reusable assets, methods and lessons that strengthen the wider DCX architecture community.
Your skills and experience
What you will bring
• Proven experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect on complex, enterprise-scale transformation programmes.
• Experience shaping solutions for UK public sector organisations or other complex, highly regulated environments, with an understanding of governance, accessibility, security, data protection and procurement considerations.
• A strong record of leading solution design and guiding implementation teams, partners and senior client stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of the Salesforce ecosystem, combined with sufficient understanding of integration platforms, data technologies, cloud services, identity, security and digital experience technologies to design credible end-to-end solutions.
• Experience designing beyond the Salesforce platform, including integration, data, security, identity, cloud and operational considerations.
• Sound knowledge of Salesforce architecture principles, platform constraints, configuration and customisation trade-offs, and integration patterns.
• Experience working within architecture governance and assurance, with clear ownership of decisions, risks, assumptions and non-functional requirements.
• The ability to balance strategic direction with delivery pragmatism and to remain technically engaged when teams need support.
• Clear, confident communication and the ability to influence decisions without relying on formal authority.
• Proven experience supporting sales and pre-sales activities, including discovery, solution shaping, estimation, proposal development and client presentations, together with strong commercial awareness.
Desirable
• Relevant Salesforce architecture certifications, or equivalent evidence of continued professional development.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture methods or major cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud.
