Your role:
We are growing our Defence team, and the opportunities are huge. We work hand in hand with our clients to realise their goals and overcome their most complex challenges. We do this by working very closely with the broader Capgemini group to support our clients as holistically as possible, leveraging a wealth of technical expertise. We believe our technical heritage and ecosystem of ‘know how’ really sets us apart from our competitors. We need people with strong consulting skills as well as skills in areas such as: Strategy & Innovation, P3M, Agile & Hybrid ways of working, Business Technology, Analytics, and Workforce & Organisational transformation.
We need good people who are action oriented with a desire to ‘get things done’. We pride ourselves being able to bring clarity and control to our client’s most complex and challenging programmes. As a Consultant within the Defence team you will primarily be Delivery focused, spending time with our clients – building relationships, growing trust and delivering tangible improvements and benefit.
Our footprint across Defence is increasing all the time, spanning the Military Strategic HQ and the Front-Line Commands, the NAD Group and the Defence Nuclear Enterprise. We are experiencing significant business growth, fueled by Defence’s significant ambition to accelerate its adoption of Digital Technologies, like Sovereign Cloud, Agentic AI and Process Automation. Capgemini’s long history and significant experience as a Service Integrator (SI) has been recognisied within UK Defence and we need to continue to attract the best talent to support our Defence clients achieve their goals.
As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:
- Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
- Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
- Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.
Your profile:
- Have experience in the Defence sector, incl. the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Defence consultancies, and/or Defence suppliers.
- Have delivery experience within Defence Programmes, e.g. Capability Acquisition, Research & Development, Digital Transformation, Capability planning/Strategy or In-Service Support.
- Are self-sufficient and autonomous, undertaking responsibilities with minimal oversight.
- Are willing to learn and evolve, applying yourself to tackle new problems.
- Are willing to work with a broad range of stakeholders, at a range of locations.
- Have a strong commitment for self-development
Desirable technical skills and experience (one or more of the following):
- Project, Programme, Portfolio Management (P3M) experience, including holding APM and MSP qualifications
- HMT Business Case development, including operational analysis and options appraisal
- Requirements Management
- User research, Business Analysis and Defence Business Change Management
- Defence approach to Training Development (incl. DSAT)
- Cyber & Security Assurance
- Digital, Data and Technology (DDAT)
- Digital Architecture
- Warfare Centre
