Job Title: Loans/Lending Architect - Knutsford
About the Job you are considering:
We are seeking an experienced Loans Solution Architect to lead end to end solution design across Retail Business Banking lending platforms The role requires deep expertise in Loans origination servicing and collections systems strong understanding of banking domain architecture and proven experience delivering large scale transformation within regulated financial environments.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Job Role:
- Define the target‑state architecture for loan platforms across origination, underwriting, disbursement, servicing, payments, interest and fees, collections, and recoveries.
- Lead solution design across multiple change initiatives ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, regulatory requirements, and business strategy.
- Own technical design artefacts including interface specifications, integration models, and data flows across upstream and downstream systems.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Engineering, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions adhere to’ security, compliance, and risk frameworks including data privacy, auditability, resilience, and disaster recovery.
- Drive architectural decisions for legacy system modernisation, platform migration, and simplification of loan‑processing systems.
- Provide governance through design reviews, architectural sign‑offs, and technical guidance to delivery teams.
- Champion best practices in performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability of loan‑related applications.
Job Skills:
- Bring 10–15 years of experience in Banking/Financial Services with at least 5 years as a Solution Architect.
- Possess strong domain knowledge across secured and unsecured lending including personal loans, business loans/SME lending, overdrafts, and optionally mortgages.
- Demonstrate hands‑on design expertise in loan lifecycle management systems covering origination to closure.
- Experience working with package‑based loan platforms such as Finacle Loans, Temenos T24 Loans, Fiserv Loan IQ, ACBS, Mambu, nCino, etc.
- Strong understanding of event‑driven systems, workflow engines, batch and real‑time processing.
- Solid knowledge of lending data models covering customer, risk, pricing, and regulatory reporting (PRA, FCA, IFRS9).
- Ability to work effectively in complex multi‑vendor, multi‑geography environments.
- Strong communication skills to engage senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Nice to have: Knowledge of credit‑risk systems and decisioning engines (e.g., FICO) and scoring models.
- Nice to have: Understanding of payments integration and ledger‑posting frameworks.
- Nice to have: Exposure to systems, tooling, and governance processes.
