About the Job you are considering:
A data-focused finance testing professional responsible for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial data across systems. Skilled in validating complex data transformations, analysing discrepancies, and supporting finance modernisation initiatives. Combines strong finance domain knowledge with analytical expertise, SQL skills, and a proactive approach to data quality and governance.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Job Role
- Responsible for validating financial data across systems, ensuring accuracy of general ledger balances, journal postings, and reconciliations
- Perform end-to-end testing of data pipelines, transformations, and calculations within finance systems
- Verify data integrity, completeness, and consistency across SaaS platforms and integrated applications
- Analyse data discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and communicate business and financial impact clearly
- Support finance transformation, modernisation, and data migration initiatives
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders, business users, and technical teams to ensure data quality standards are met
- Validate financial reporting, management information (MI), and regulatory outputs where applicable
- Ensure adherence to financial controls, audit requirements, and governance standards in data testing processes
- Work within agile or hybrid delivery environments, contributing to continuous improvement in testing practices
Job Skills
- Strong experience in data-centric testing within finance or finance modernisation environments
- Deep understanding of finance processes and concepts such as general ledger, postings, and reconciliations
- Ability to validate complex datasets, transformations, and financial calculations
- Experience testing SaaS platforms and data integrations
- High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, completeness, and integrity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess data issues and business impact
- Working knowledge of SQL or data querying techniques for validation and reconciliation
- Familiarity with Azure data platforms, including Azure Databricks
- Exposure to finance data migration, analytics platforms, or large-scale data modernisation initiatives
- Understanding of financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and control frameworks
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams
- Proactive approach to identifying data risks early and balancing delivery speed with governance and assurance needs.
