Your Role
This role, reporting to the Experience Engineering Delivery Lead, will provide project management support to dedicated project work, You will also have a dotted line in to the Creative Lead to provide project UX/UI Design support to dedicated project work as and when required. The projects will have strong Real time 3D and visualisation engineering focus, in relation to the development of a software product engineering. This role will involve working on specific projects and will provide support to the Project / Engagement Managers. The role will require a level of project management and design experience.
Project Management
- Ensuring on-time and on-budget project delivery of their own projects.
- Ensure the project plans are kept up to date by the team, with support from the Project Planners.
- Manage the regular update of financial forecasts, with support from the Project / Engagement Managers and Delivery Leads.
- Working with key internal stakeholders to understand performance and status of the key deliverables.
- Reporting performance and escalate issues to the Delivery team.
- Creating a positive and productive work environment both within the project team and across other business functions.
- Document lessons learned and apply these in future work.
- Review and manage project risks and provide actionable mitigations.
- Identify and implement improvements to the organisation’s processes and ways of working.
- Ensuring compliance with project management and engagement management processes and procedures.
- Support meetings with external stakeholders as required.
Design UX/UI
- Ideation and design, with communication skills both in making decks and presenting them.
- Good writing skills, with the ability to articulate difficult concepts.
- Quick and functional storyboarding and idea sharing.
- RT3D design basics, with evidence of the use of 3D packages to create content.
- A portfolio of your work in any format, showing your ability professionally and/or personally.
Your Profile
The Junior Project Manager needs to be familiar with project management methodologies and tools. They should also have a good understanding of risk management, budget management, and change management.
Experience: Should also have experience managing projects. This should be demonstrated by previous on-the-job experience. There should be previous experience of setting up and delivering complex engineering projects (multiyear, multi £M projects). Experience of working in teams developing schedules and budgets to achieve outcomes including monitoring the performance of a complex project or programme.
Skills: A variety of project management skills, such as planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and change management.
Technical skills: Knowledge of specific software and tools (training can be provided where gaps exist), including but not exclusive with Jira, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint.
Technical Experience
Technical knowledge: Have a strong understanding of the engineering principles and practices relevant to the projects they are managing. This includes knowledge of the specific Real Time 3D technologies and tools that are being used in the industry today.
Desirable:
- Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree (or significant experience of managing Engineering Projects);
- Project Management Certification e.g. APM PMQ or equivalent (or significant experience of managing complex Engineering Projects);
- Industrial Design and or product design
- Experience and knowledge of 2D and 3D modelling and Real-time 3D software tools and techniques.
- A good working knowledge of all digital platforms, from PC Screen to XR to bespoke installations.
- A working knowledge of Unity, Unreal or any other professional RT3D tool.
- Member of a professional body would be advantageous
- Proven experience in managing complex programmes and stakeholders.
- Understanding of non-core project management roles such as purchasing, commercial.
- Well organised, systematic and rigorous approach to planning work and priorities
- Excellent influencing and inter-personal skills
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex topics to stakeholders at all levels
