Graduate Applications Consultant
Location: Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Woking
Intake: September
Salary: £35,000
About the role you’re considering
We are looking for individuals with a genuine enthusiasm for technology who want to start their career in the IT industry.
You will be joining the Applications Development and Maintenance practice, working with a wide variety of clients across sectors including the public sector, retail, insurance and defence. You will build strong team and client relationships, support growth, innovation and continuous service improvement, while helping organisations modernise and optimise their business applications.
As the application services landscape evolves, AI is becoming an increasingly important part of how organisations develop, operate and enhance their technology platforms. You will have opportunities to work with AI-enabled tools and delivery approaches, helping clients improve efficiency, enhance user experiences and unlock greater value from their technology investments.
Hybrid working: This role is hybrid working meaning you will predominately work from home but will be expected to attend the office regularly for meetings and team events. You can attend the office daily if you wish. You will need to be based within a commutable distance of one of our main offices (Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Woking) and may be asked to work on client site for part of the week depending on the client.
Your role
As an Applications Consultant within the ADM (Applications Development & Maintenance) practice, you will develop technical skills to support and enhance clients’ business applications, contributing to activities such as incident resolution, application enhancements, testing, and documentation. You will work within established delivery frameworks like Agile, ITIL, and Product-centric approaches, advising clients on maximising application value.
Depending on your strengths and business needs, you may specialise as either a functional consultant (for example, HR, Finance, or Supply Chain) or as a technical application consultant, working with technologies such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, AWS Cloud, Azure Cloud, and Java.
Regardless of specialism, you will play a role in delivering and supporting the next generation of AI-enabled business applications. AI and intelligent automation are rapidly transforming how organisations develop, operate and optimise their technology platforms, and we are looking for graduates who are excited by these opportunities and willing to continuously develop their AI capabilities. Working alongside experienced consultants and engineers, you will explore how AI can improve software development, testing, support, operations and business processes, helping to deliver innovative solutions that create measurable value for both Capgemini and our clients.
You will have ongoing access to world-class industry training and certifications, including AI-focused learning pathways, and be actively encouraged to pursue industry-standard qualifications to support your professional growth while maintaining high delivery standards and best practices. You will also have opportunities to participate in AI communities, innovation challenges, hackathons and real-world client initiatives, helping you build practical experience with AI and emerging technologies that are transforming the future of application services.
You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini building an inclusive future is part of everyday life and will be part of your working reality. We have built a representative and welcoming environment, for everyone.
