Financial Crime Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: London/Northampton

 

Role Overview

 

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support the Business Product Management team, focused on Wholesale Onboarding, Financial Crime, and Customer Due Diligence (CDD). This role requires strong expertise in KYC, Onboarding, and CDD processes within a commercial banking environment.

The Senior BA will work closely with the Head of Product as part of the Wholesale CDD Client Execution Team and will be responsible for translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

 

Hybrid working:

 

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

 

Your Role

1. Requirement Gathering & Documentation

  • Conduct workshops with stakeholders across Business, Programme, and Technology teams.
  • Capture business requirements in a standardized and structured format using Agile methodology (JIRA, etc.).
  • Document unambiguous requirements, business rules, and ensure a single version of the truth for all stakeholders.
  • Use visual tools (process maps, prototypes, wireframes) to avoid misinterpretation of requirements.

2. Analysis & Acceptance Criteria

  • Apply strong functional, scenario-based, and data analysis skills.
  • Ensure requirements are complete with detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct impact assessments to validate feasibility and identify any operational implications.
  • Optimize requirements to prevent additional operational overheads or manual workarounds.

3. Collaboration & Product Support

  • Work with Product Owner and SMEs to identify dependencies, risks, or gaps early in the lifecycle.
  • Support prioritization and ensure requirements align with business objectives.
  • Facilitate smooth collaboration across cross‑functional teams.

 

Your Job

 

Required Skills & Experience

 

  • Strong experience in commercial banking, specifically KYC, CDD, Client Onboarding.
  • Experience working on FinCrime / Wholesale Onboarding initiatives.
  • Hands‑on experience with Agile frameworks—JIRA or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to document requirements clearly.
  • Experience creating process flows, prototypes, wireframes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to assess impacts, identify dependencies, and mitigate risks.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting large-scale CDD transformation or FinCrime remediation programs.
  • Exposure to regulatory compliance and onboarding standards within Tier‑1 banks.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, complex delivery environments.
