Director - Energy Transition & Utilities - Water Sector

Water companies must address climate change impacts while maintaining affordability, reliability and environmental performance. Success will depend on embracing innovation at scale, including digitalisation, data-driven decision making, automation, IoT and AI.
Capgemini Invent is helping some of the UK's largest water companies navigate this transformation. As demand for our services continues to grow, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Director to join our expanding Water Sector team within Energy Transition & Utilities.
Your Role
As part of our growing Water Sector Practice, you will help lead the pursuit and delivery of major advisory, consulting and transformation programmes across the sector.
Working with some of the UK's largest water companies, you will help strengthen and expand our position in the market. As a Director within Capgemini Invent's Water Sector team, you will help set strategic direction, drive business growth, build senior client relationships, lead complex engagements and support the development of our people.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Business Development: Leading and contributing to proposals, bids, client pursuits, proposition development and industry events.
- Project Delivery: Leading client engagements and ensuring successful delivery against quality, budget and timeline expectations.
- Practice Development: Supporting recruitment, capability building, offering development and internal initiatives.
- Learning & Development: Coaching and developing team members while continuing your own professional growth.
- Thought Leadership: Contributing to market insights, publications and industry events.
Your Profile
We would love to hear from candidates with:
- Significant consulting experience within the UK Water sector.
- Experience working with one or more UK water companies.
- Exceptional consulting skills gained within a major consultancy and/or industry environment.
- A proven track record of proposition development, business growth and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience delivering digital transformation programmes across Capital Delivery, Water and Waste Operations or Corporate Functions.
- Experience managing senior client relationships.
- Strong understanding of regulatory challenges, market trends and the future direction of the UK Water sector.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A passion for coaching, mentoring and developing others.
- Flexibility to travel and work at client sites as required.
You will bring expertise across a broad range of advisory, consulting and transformation services, which may include:
- Water and Waste Operations, Asset Management and/or Capital Delivery.
- Business Development and Growth.
- Design and deployment of digital transformation, data and AI solutions.
- Emerging technologies including intelligent operations, IoT, advanced analytics, automation, digital twins and BIM.
