About the Job you are considering:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data architecture solutions within the Banking and Financial Services sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the target-state data architecture, driving data modernization initiatives, and ensuring alignment between business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technology strategy.


This role requires deep expertise in banking data domains, enterprise data modeling, cloud-native data platforms, governance frameworks, and large-scale transformation programs.

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role:
Enterprise Data Architecture

  • Define and drive enterprise-wide data architecture strategy aligned with banking business objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop target-state information architecture, enterprise data models, canonical models, and domain-driven architecture frameworks.
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, patterns, and best practices for enterprise data management.

Data Platform Architecture

  • Architect scalable, secure, high-performance Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, and cloud-native data ecosystems.
  • Design modern data platforms leveraging Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and emerging cloud technologies.
  • Define enterprise data integration architectures across legacy, on-premises, and cloud environments.

Banking Domain Solutions

  • Architect data solutions supporting key banking domains including:
    • Risk Management
    • Finance & Regulatory Reporting
    • Treasury
    • Payments
    • Customer & Client Data
    • Financial Crime & Compliance
    • Reference Data Management
  • Translate regulatory and business requirements into scalable and compliant data architectures.


Your Skills:

Essential

  • 12+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Management, or Information Architecture.
  • Extensive experience working within Banking and Financial Services organizations, preferably Tier-1 financial institutions.
  • Proven expertise in enterprise-scale data architecture and large transformation programs.
  • Strong experience in designing Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Lakehouse architectures, and modern analytics platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise data modeling (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models).
  • Expertise in data integration, ETL/ELT frameworks, event-driven architectures, and real-time data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Platform, Databricks, Snowflake, and modern cloud ecosystems.
  • Strong SQL and Big Data technology experience.
  • Experience implementing Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Catalog, and Lineage solutions.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex regulatory and business-driven data transformation initiatives.

Desirable

  • Experience implementing Data Mesh and Data Product operating models.
  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and advanced analytics architecture.
  • Experience with banking modernization, digital transformation, and cloud migration programs.
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and API-driven architectures.
