Job Title: Technical Business Analyst – Payments Transformation
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst with deep expertise in banking payments transformations to support the implementation of new payment system. The ideal candidate will bring strong domain knowledge, technical acumen, and stakeholder management experience to drive successful delivery in a complex financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business analysis for payment processing systems across transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
- Analyse and model payment flows, data mappings, and system integrations.
- Support issue triage and resolution during development and production phases.
- Engage with external third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and governance.
- Produce high-quality documentation using UML, BPMN, and other modelling tools.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years in banking payments transformations or implementing new payment systems.
- 3+ years as a Technical Business Analyst in large banking environments.
- Strong understanding of payment systems, processing, and industry trends (e.g., ISO 20022, digital payments).
- Familiarity with messaging standards: NACHA, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, SWIFT.
- Experience with API integrations, payment technologies, and upstream/downstream systems (e.g., Core Banking, FX, Compliance).
- Proficiency in technical documentation and modelling tools (UML, BPMN).
- Knowledge of check payments value chain, including fraud, disputes, clearing, settlement, and compliance.
- Demonstrable experience in data mapping and modelling for issue triage.
- Strong stakeholder management and governance experience in large-scale implementations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, JIRA).
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks: SEPA, BASEL, PSD2, PCIDSS (desirable).
- Experience working with payment intermediaries, aggregators, and switches.
