Job Title: Core Banking Solution Architect
Drive consistent, innovative technology solutions that meet both strategic and operational goals for current account and core banking functions. This role is pivotal in designing scalable, resilient, and secure architectures across loans, savings/current accounts, switching, and payments platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical architecture and solution design for core banking journeys including loans, current accounts, account switching, and payments.
- Ensure solutions meet scalability, resiliency, security, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and business analysts to align technology with business requirements and risk controls.
- Own architectural governance, producing design artefacts for privacy, records management, and risk.
- Guide integration strategies, balancing cloud adoption, automation, and compliance.
- Evaluate and integrate vendor products, support systems strategy, and automate operational processes to reduce manual intervention.
- Advise business and product teams, supporting technical delivery and innovation across the banking landscape.
Essential Expertise:
- Deep domain knowledge of current account and core banking systems, including payment schemes and architecture paradigms (e.g. cloud, APIs, DevOps, security).
- Proven experience designing solutions involving payments, core banking, and cards systems.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management in financial services.
- Experience with workforce planning tools and reporting platforms such as Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Tableau, and Confluence.
- Excellent stakeholder management, business acumen, and ability to influence strategy across multiple teams and functions.
Preferred Skills & Tools:
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and integration patterns.
- Experience in Agile delivery environments and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF).
- Knowledge of account switching services, loan origination, and payments orchestration.
