Job Title: BUSIENSS ANALYST

Location: Knutsford

 

Role Overview

The Business Analyst (BA) will work within the Current Accounts Change Team, part of the Current Account Needs Lab (CAPL) Technology in Retail Banking. The role supports change initiatives across current account propositions and related customer journeys.

The BA will act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, prioritised, and delivered in line with Agile principles.

 

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

 

Your Role

 

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Lead requirements definition from Epic level through to Feature and Story level
  • Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements
  • Produce clear, actionable user stories with well‑defined acceptance criteria
  • Create analysis artefacts such as As‑Is / To‑Be process flows, wireframes, and context diagrams to support delivery

Agile Delivery

  • Actively participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
  • Support Product Owners in prioritising backlog items aligned to business value and delivery goals

Process & Solution Design

  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and Engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with requirements

Change Management & Governance

  • Ensure alignment with Retail Banking CAPL governance and demand processes
  • Manage and maintain requirements through JIRA, covering Epics, Capabilities, Features, and Stories

 

Your Job

 

Essential Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working across multiple levels of detail: Epic (high-level) to Feature/Story (detailed)
  • Proven experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum) and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to create high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation

Desirable Knowledge

  • Familiarity with Better Backlogs.
  • Understanding of current account products, including overdrafts and associated customer journeys
