AWS Solution Architect

About the Job you are considering:

Join the Financial Services Business Unit within Capgemini’s Cloud & Custom Applications (C&CA) practice as an AWS Solution Architect. This role is ideal for a technology leader who combines strategic thinking with delivery excellence to help clients solve complex business challenges and shape future-ready solutions. As a trusted advisor, you will consult with purpose, continuously evolve architectural approaches, and architect tomorrow by creating scalable, sustainable, and business-aligned solutions. Working closely with clients, stakeholders, and delivery teams, you will drive technical direction, promote innovation, encourage responsible adoption of AI-enabled ways of working, and contribute to building a high-performing, future-ready workforce.

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role:

  • Define solution architectures that align business goals, enterprise strategy, and long-term technology roadmaps.
  • Lead the creation of high-level solution designs and architecture options, enabling informed decision-making and successful governance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, scalable, and sustainable solutions.
  • Drive architectural consistency, quality, and best practice across programmes and delivery teams.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, improve maintainability, and increase long-term business value.
  • Promote reuse of existing capabilities, services, and data assets wherever appropriate to maximise efficiency and consistency.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to delivery teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Ensure successful delivery through effective planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to delivery standards.
  • Facilitate alignment across teams and departments, helping to remove barriers and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Champion AI awareness, innovation, and future-ready ways of working that enhance client outcomes and workforce capability.

Your Skills:

  • Strong experience in solution architecture, software architecture, and application design for enterprise-scale environments.
  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end delivery initiatives from concept through implementation and transition.
  • Expertise in defining architecture principles, integration approaches, solution patterns, and design best practices.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices and Agile delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing architectural governance, design approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience mentoring teams and guiding technical direction across multiple workstreams.
  • Ability to balance strategic objectives with practical delivery outcomes.
  • Awareness of AI-enabled delivery approaches and a commitment to developing future-ready teams.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • AWS Solution Architect certification or other relevant cloud certifications.
  • Experience with Java, Python, TypeScript, React JS, and Angular.
  • Experience designing and delivering REST API-based solutions.
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks, enterprise architecture methodologies, and modern integration patterns.
  • Experience working within Financial Services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Confluence, and JIRA.
  • Scrum or Agile-related certifications.
  • Experience contributing to cloud transformation, application modernisation, or digital transformation programmes.
