Role Overview:
As a Senior Software Engineer you will lead the validation and quality assurance of connected car features, ensuring seamless functionality across embedded systems, mobile apps, and IT infrastructures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, manage test plans, oversee regional testing activities, and contribute to process optimizations and automation.
Key responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Plan, Build, and Run phases of Smart Quality testing for connected car applications.
- Define and implement test strategies, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on the defined process.
- Oversee benchmarking of competitor apps, services, and portals for quality requirements enhancement.
- Develop and maintain automated and manual test processes for vehicle and application testing.
- Plan, execute, and approve connected car deployments, including Pre-Live and Live environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, ASPICE, etc.)
- Utilize analytical tools like Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and Amazon Web Services for testing insights.
- Manage issue tracking and resolution via JIRA/Similar systems, facilitating weekly and Monthly progress meetings.
- Collaborate with in various teams to synergy projects and digital quality improvements.
- Lead training sessions, create process documentation, and coordinate new model year projects.
- Travel as required to test locations (Europe, North America, China) for regional quality verification.
Experience needed
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 7+ years in automotive software/electronics testing, preferably in connected car ecosystems.
- Expertise in vehicle architecture, CAN, LIN, MOST, Flex ray, Ethernet technologies.
- Experience in automated testing of apps, services, IT infrastructure, HMI, and web applications.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), JIRA, Confluence, and Test Pipeline tools.
- Hands-on experience with software development kits (SDKs) and UI/UX testing best practices.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 25010, ISO 33000 auditing standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in process automation and optimization.
- Ability to travel internationally on short notice; valid driving license and visa compliance required.
Security clearance needed
To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.
There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
