YOUR ROLE
As a RAMS Engineer, you will serve as a key technical safety authority within our railway projects, ensuring that safety-critical systems comply with the highest standards and regulations. In this role you will play a key role in:
- Acting as a technical safety authority, reviewing and validating that technical solutions are safe and fully compliant with applicable regulations, working closely with cross-functional project teams
- Coordinating, executing and reviewing Specific Application Safety and RAM activities across the full project life cycle, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget
- Leading Verification & Validation activities, demonstrating correct compliance with all project requirements and industry standards
- Managing relationships with assessment bodies including ISAs, AsBos, NoBos and DeBos, as well as clients and other external authorities
- Planning and monitoring RAMS and Verification & Validation activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets and quality expectations
YOUR PROFILE
- A university degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, combined with at least 3 years of experience in RAMS applied to railway safety-related systems and technologies (e.g. control, command and signalling)
- Hands-on experience with safety and RAM engineering techniques such as PHA, IHA, SHA, FTA and FMECA, with the ability to apply these effectively across complex projects
- Strong knowledge of functional safety standards including railway CENELEC EN50126/8/9 and EN50716, as well as European Railway Regulations for Safety and Interoperability (e.g. TSIs, CSM-RA)
- Proficiency in requirements management tools such as DOORS, alongside a results-oriented mindset and strong customer and teamwork focus
- Advanced level of Portuguese and English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Spanish is considered a plus
