Your Role
The Lead Product Manager will drive the transformation of a large‑scale medical research platform from a static content repository into a dynamic, AI‑powered research environment. The focus is on enabling users—such as medical researchers and clinician‑scientists—to not only access research materials but also generate hypotheses, analyze documents, and develop research methodologies within a unified ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead an interdisciplinary team through high ambiguity and rapid iteration, providing strong direction and clarity.
- Define and execute a product vision that integrates advanced search, discovery, and GenAI-enabled research workflows.
- Operate with a hybrid Program Manager/Product Manager mindset—ensuring disciplined execution while championing strategic value creation.
- Drive progress using OKRs, emphasizing measurable outcomes over traditional delivery metrics.
- Shape and manage a lean, startup‑like operating model within a large organizational context.
- Collaborate with technical partners to build AI‑fluency into product experiences, particularly around search, summarization, and research workflow augmentation.
- Ensure product decisions are informed by a deep understanding of scholarly publishing in the STM (Scientific, Technical, and Medical) domain.
Your Profile
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in product management, program management, or a hybrid leadership role in a technology‑driven environment.
- Experience leading AI‑enabled or search/discovery‑focused products is valued.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous, zero‑to‑one, or startup‑like environments, ideally within a large organization.
- Strong track record of driving product strategy, prioritization, and execution without heavy process scaffolding.
- Hands‑on experience with OKR‑driven product delivery, focusing on outcomes rather than output-based frameworks.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering, data science, and UX teams on complex technical products.
- Domain familiarity with academic research workflows, STM publishing, or scientific/medical information ecosystems is highly advantageous.
- Prior success in roles requiring strong stakeholder influence, executive communication, and decisive leadership.
- Candidate must be based in Portugal
