YOUR ROLE
- Design and engineering of IP connectivity supporting international mobile and roaming services.
- Define and dimension network interfaces and interconnections with external carriers.
- Support the design and evolution of Network-to-Network Interfaces (NNIs).
- Analyze BGP routing, peering and end-to-end connectivity between our client and external networks/carriers.
- Assess traffic requirements and capacity needs for interfaces supporting voice, data and other mobile services.
- Troubleshoot complex connectivity and service issues across IP transport, carrier interconnections and mobile network domains.
- Analyze network behavior and traffic flows to identify the origin and potential impact of incidents.
- Work closely with Packet Core, roaming, inventory and operations teams.
- Define technical requirements and provide engineering guidance to the teams responsible for implementation and operations.
- Support service delivery activities related to new or changed carrier interconnections.
- Contribute to the continuous evolution, resilience and scalability of the IPX/Roaming network.
YOUR PROFILE
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, including TCP/IP, routing and BGP.
- Experience with carrier-grade, service provider or large-scale telecommunications networks.
- Good understanding of network interconnection and peering concepts.
- Solid network troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze connectivity issues end-to-end and identify the affected network/domain.
- Ability to understand network architectures, traffic flows and dependencies between different network components and services.
- Understanding of telecommunications environments and how IP transport supports services such as voice, data and roaming.
- Sufficient knowledge of mobile networks and/or Packet Core concepts to understand their interaction with the IP transport layer.
- Ability to work on engineering and design activities, translating service requirements into network connectivity and capacity requirements.
- Analytical mindset and ability to work autonomously across complex technical environments involving multiple teams and external carriers.
- Good communication skills and English proficiency.
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with mobile Packet Core networks.
- Previous experience with IPX, international roaming or inter-operator connectivity.
- Experience managing or engineering NNIs with telecom carriers.
- Knowledge of roaming architectures and associated traffic flows.
- Knowledge of GTP and mobile data protocols.
- Experience with international carrier networks, IP transit or Internet/private peering.
- Experience with network capacity planning and traffic engineering.
- Familiarity with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark.
- Knowledge of DNS in telecommunications environments.
- Relevant networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent.
