Senior Software Engineer (Azure, Kafka)

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Cloud / Integration Engineer, you will design, build, and support enterprise-scale event-driven integration platforms using Azure Integration Services (AIS). You will work in a cloud-native environment with a strong focus on automation, security, DevOps practices, and operational excellence. In this role, you will collaborate with architects, developers, infrastructure, networking, and security teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable integration solutions across the enterprise.

YOUR TASKS

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise event-driven integration platforms.
  • Build integration solutions using Azure Integration Services, including Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Event Grid, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Storage.
  • Implement and support integration workloads running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Assess business requirements and recommend appropriate integration patterns, architectures, and Azure services.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitHub Actions.
  • Support Kafka-based integrations, including Kafka Connect deployments and integrations.
  • Ensure platform security, governance, compliance, and operational best practices.Implement monitoring, observability, scaling, and operational support processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Proven experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer, Integration Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Integration Services:
    • Azure Service Bus
    • Azure Event Hubs
    • Azure Event Grid
    • Azure Functions
    • Azure Logic Apps
    • Azure Storage
  • Strong experience working with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Kubernetes ecosystem:
    • Deployments, Services, Pods, Ingress
    • Container lifecycle management
    • Container security best practices
    • Monitoring and scaling of containerized workloads
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform (mandatory).
  • Experience with Azure CLI and cloud infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Programming and scripting experience with:
    • TypeScript / JavaScript
    • Python
    • Bash
    • Java (Kafka Connect ecosystem)
  • Good understanding of Azure networking concepts:
    • VNets, Subnets, NSGs
    • Private Endpoints and Private Link
    • DNS and Private DNS Zones
    • Hybrid Connectivity
    • Hub-and-Spoke architectures
  • Strong understanding of cloud security:
    • Azure IAM / RBAC
    • Managed Identities
    • Azure Key Vault
    • Entra ID
    • Zero Trust and Secure-by-Design principles
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Strong ownership mindset and focus on operational excellence.

Experience in the following a plus

  • GitOps and ArgoCD.
  • Kafka integration architecture and Kafka Connect implementations.
  • Integration between AKS-hosted applications and Azure PaaS services.Docker and Docker Hub.
  • Monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog.Azure platform governance and enterprise-scale cloud operations.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification.
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
  • Experience designing highly scalable, event-driven enterprise architectures.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native design patterns and distributed systems.
