Job Description
A leading technology company is seeking Release Engineer to join its Release Management team. This role is integral to the software development lifecycle, focusing on validating, promoting, deploying, and monitoring releases across various environments. Candidates should have hands-on experience with DevOps tools, cloud infrastructure, and sound judgment in managing safe and scalable rollouts.
Key Responsibilities:
Release Validation & Promotion
- Build and deploy artifacts to staging and production environments.
- Execute test suites to ensure readiness for promotion.
- Manage promotions through deployment rings and configure pipelines accordingly.
Active Monitoring
- Monitor alerts, canary error dashboards, and application/service health.
- Follow monitoring plans for each deployment.
Deployment Execution
- Operate and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and BuildKite.
- Manage infrastructure and service deployments using Kubernetes and Argo.
- Coordinate urgent fix rollouts and rollback procedures.
Cloud & Infrastructure Support
- Utilize cloud services (e.g., EKS, RDS, S3, VPC) to deploy and manage infrastructure.
Automate configuration and manage environment scalability.
Experience :
- 5+ years in Release Engineering, DevOps (AWS), or related roles.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with git, CI/CD tools, and scripting (e.g., shell).
- Proficient in Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Kotlin/Java).
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, especially release and delivery.
Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical skills and operational judgment.
- Strong execution, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
