Python Software Engineer

Your Project

Team builds core servicing platforms that support customers during critical financial moments. We own backend services and event‑driven pipelines that orchestrate bankruptcy workflows and provide compliant, reliable hardship support at scale. Engineers on this team work on distributed systems, event-driven pipelines, and high-availability services with a strong emphasis on correctness, auditability, and operational excellence. You’ll collaborate closely with product, compliance, and other platform teams while helping shape foundational systems in a greenfield environment. This is a high-impact opportunity to apply deep backend expertise in Python and Kotlin to systems that matter to both customers and the business.

Your Role

  • Deliver backend features by breaking projects into tasks and collaborating closely with the team’s tech lead and manager.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, services, and pipelines using Python or Kotlin.
  • Work across a large codebase: debug, refactor, and contribute through code reviews.
  • Support product development by collaborating with product, design, analytics, and compliance teams.
  • Contribute to service reliability by creating/monitoring metrics, supporting on-call, and improving operational tooling.
  • Participate in team growth activities, including interviews and knowledge sharing. 

Your Profile

  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Strong backend development skills in Python (preferably) or Kotlin; frontend experience with React is a plus.
  • Experience building and launching APIs and working with distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes, and standard testing tools (JUnit, WireMock, or equivalents).
  • Ability to break down problems, design clean solutions, and write clear, testable, extensible code.
  • Comfortable navigating large codebases and providing constructive review feedback.
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with global teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 
  • At least Upper-Intermediate English level.
