BA with Biology & Chemistry domain knowledge (Ukraine)

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements & Documentation:

Lead requirements elicitation through interviews, workshops, and analysis of existing processes.
Translate business needs into well-structured user stories following the INVEST principles.
Develop clear and testable Acceptance Criteria and/or Gherkin BDD scenarios.
Maintain and refine the product backlog, ensuring alignment with priorities and strategic goals.

Process & Journey Analysis:

Conduct As-Is / To-Be process mapping and customer journey mapping to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
Document business workflows, dependencies, and data flows.

Project & Delivery Support:

Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Development Teams, QA, and stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
Drive Backlog Grooming/Refinement sessions and provide ongoing clarification to development teams.
Support UAT planning, test case validation, and user acceptance execution.
Facilitate communication to ensure alignment across business, technical, and operational teams.

Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders across business units.
Manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and ensure transparent communication.
Act as the liaison between technical teams and business owners.

Domain Knowledge:

Apply foundational knowledge of biology and chemistry to ensure accurate translation of domain-specific requirements.
Work with subject matter experts to validate assumptions and refine data models or solution logic.

Ontology:

Contribute to ontology development and semantic modeling activities.
Support teams using ontology structures for data categorization or search optimization.

Data & Validation:

Perform data validation using basic SQL/SPARQL queries.
Interpret search telemetry and usage analytics to identify trends or behavioral insights.
Apply functional understanding to validate data and process accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in:
  Requirements elicitation
  User story writing (INVEST)
  Acceptance criteria / BDD
  Process & journey mapping
  Backlog management
  UAT planning
• Experience with SQL (basic level) and/or SPARQL for data checks.
• Ability to interpret system or search telemetry (e.g., logs, analytics dashboards).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in biology, chemistry, or life sciences-related projects.
• Understanding of ontologies, semantic search, or knowledge graph concepts.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in complex environments.
• English: B1+ including confident use of scientific terminology related to biology and chemistry.
