Senior Statutory Accounting Specialist

Your role

The Statutory Accounting & Reporting Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate and compliant statutory financial statements, ensuring adherence to local GAAP, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. The role supports external audits, coordinates data collection across functions, and drives high‑quality financial reporting for assigned legal entities.

Your tasks

  • Support Preparation & Draft statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial data, including balance sheet, P&L, disclosures, and supplementary reporting packs.
  • Coordinate annual statutory audits, providing required documentation and responding to auditor queries.
  • Review accounting entries and ensure proper classification, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and other Finance teams to collect and validate statutory reporting inputs.
  • Support preparation of director reports, management confirmations, and regulatory filings.
  • Monitor and consult changes in local accounting and reporting rules and support assessing their impact.
  • Drive continuous improvements in closing, reporting, documentation quality, and process automation.
  • Work with external service providers where required (auditors, advisors, outsourced accounting firms).
  • Maintain strong governance and documentation standards for all statutory files.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in statutory accounting, external reporting.
  • Strong understanding of local GAAP; combined with experience with IFRS
  • Proven experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing audits.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP).
  • Ability to interpret accounting standards and prepare technical accounting analyses.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls and documentation standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and quality mindset.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Professional certification would be an advantage (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, local accounting qualification).
