Your role
The Head of Data Platform Foundations is responsible for defining, owning, and evolving the enterprise data platform technology implementation and ensuring its successful delivery across the organization. This role provides architectural, and operational leadership for all data platform capabilities, including cloud infrastructure, data engineering, security, and platform operations.
Your tasks
- Establish the long-term technology roadmap for data solutions, including automation, AI adoption, modernization, and technology evolution.
- Provide architectural oversight and governance across all Data Cloud initiatives.
- Ensure consistency with Enterprise Architecture principles, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver technical designs for data platform, landing zones, pipelines, and integrations.
- Oversee the delivery of scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions on top of Data Cloud
- Ensure reliable operations of batch and streaming data pipelines and platform services.
- Drive adoption of automation and DevOps best practices across the platform organization.
- Ensure data platform security by design, including encryption, access controls, network isolation, and monitoring.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team including Architects, Engineers, and DevOps specialists.
- Build a high-performing, technically strong, and collaborative data platform organization.
- Provide technical guidance, career development, and performance management for team members.
- Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, and delivery teams.
- Manage strategic relationships with cloud providers, technology vendors, and system integrators.
Your profile
- 10+ years of experience in data platforms, data architecture, or large-scale data engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years in a senior leadership or architect role owning enterprise data platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Amazon or Azure) and modern data ecosystems, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time processing architectures.
- Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD, and DevOps operating models.
- Solid foundation in networking, cloud landing zones, and security architecture.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud data platforms.
- Exposure to AI/ML platforms and advanced analytics enablement.
- Experience operating in large, regulated enterprise environments.
