Director Legal and Governance (French/ Spanish/ German

Your role

As a Director Legal and Governance, you will shape and lead a scalable legal and governance operating model across a portfolio, ensuring high standards, effective risk management, and service excellence. You will partner with senior stakeholders, drive process and technology improvements, oversee governance and compliance activities, and develop high-performing teams. Your work will help strengthen decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and ensure sustainable, compliant growth across supported services.

Your tasks

  • Define and maintain standards, KPIs, and controls for the Legal and Governance function across the portfolio.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex negotiations, disputes, non-standard risks, and governance or compliance issues.
  • Drive improvements and adoption of CLM platforms, repositories, workflow tools, automation, reporting, and analytics solutions.
  • Partner with senior leaders across procurement, legal, finance, and operations to align operating models and priorities.
  • Lead workforce planning, hiring, performance management, retention, and succession planning for delivery teams in Poland.
  • Develop leaders and subject matter experts through mentoring, capability building, and succession planning.
  • Oversee portfolio-level risk management, governance reporting, audit readiness, remediation tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support transitions, transformation programmes, knowledge management activities, and service expansion while ensuring strong governance and stakeholder engagement.

Your profile

  • You hold a Law degree, Master of Laws, JD, or an equivalent legal qualification.
  • You bring 15+ years of experience in legal, governance, compliance, or legal operations environments, including responsibility for standards, processes, service delivery, or operating models.
  • You have 8+ years of leadership experience managing large teams in shared services, GBS, outsourcing, or multinational delivery environments.
  • You have proven expertise in legal operations, governance, compliance, enterprise risk management, and large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • You demonstrate strong executive stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • You are experienced in process design, optimisation, continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and the implementation of scalable operating models.
  • You are confident working with legal technology, CLM solutions, reporting tools, analytics platforms, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • You are fluent in English and additionally fluent in French, Spanish, or German.
