Your Role
As a Mainframe Assembler Developer, you will work on complex system and application programming assignments using Assembly language, JCL, VSAM, HLASM macros, and REXX. You will collaborate with customer-facing teams to resolve issues, deliver high‑quality code, and contribute to continuous improvement across mainframe environments.
In This Role, You Will
- Design and develop solutions using core Assembly language and understand/modify ASM macros.
- Analyze customer logs and dumps to identify and resolve issues.
- Work closely with the L2 support team to understand customer-reported scenarios and provide proactive solutions.
- Deliver high‑quality code for new development as well as fixes for customer issues.
- Perform active debugging to identify the root cause of problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate progress and ensure timely closure of tasks.
- Stay updated on z/OS mainframe technologies, tools, and best practices.
- (Preferred) Work in Agile/Scrum methodology and contribute effectively in Agile ceremonies.
- (Preferred) Utilize knowledge of C language, z/OS system macros, TLS, SSL, and related technologies.
Your Profile
- 5–9 years of experience in mainframe application/system programming.
- Strong hands-on skills in Assembly language, JCL, VSAM, HLASM macros, and REXX.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues using logs and dumps.
- Good collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional and customer-facing teams.
- Experience in Agile environments is preferred.
- Additional exposure to C, TLS/SSL, and z/OS system-level macros is a plus.
