Software Asset Manager with German

YOUR ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Software Asset Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of software assets across the organization. This role ensures compliance with licensing agreements, optimizes software usage and spend, and supports audits and vendor negotiations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SAM tools and licensing models, along with strong communication skills in both German and English.

YOUR TASKS

  • Manage the end-to-end software asset lifecycle: deployment, usage monitoring, and retirement.
  • Ensure compliance with software license terms and corporate policies.
  • Maintain and enhance SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM).
  • Lead or support internal and external software audits.
  • Collaborate with vendors for contract negotiations and license true-ups.
  • Analyze software usage data to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Create reports and dashboards for stakeholders on license utilization, compliance posture, and optimization opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of SAM policies, processes, and standards.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Asset Management or related IT asset roles.
  • Proven expertise with SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow, and ServiceNow SAM.
  • Deep understanding of software licensing and compliance for major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM).
  • Experience with software audits and remediating audit findings.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English (both written and spoken).
