ITSM Asset Manager with German

YOUR ROLE

The ITSM Asset Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle of hardware and software assets, ensuring accurate data in the CMDB and effective governance of Asset & Configuration Management processes. The role focuses on cost optimization, compliance, data quality, and close collaboration with IT, vendors, and service partners.

YOUR TASKS

  • Manage and maintain IT Asset Management (ITAM) and SACM processes aligned with ITIL.
  • Register new hardware and software assets and ensure accurate CI relationships in the CMDB.
  • Conduct research on software renewals and identify savings opportunities.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to track entitlements, contracts, and renewal data.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in the software renewal and SACM processes.
  • Perform planned CMDB and asset audits (physical or automated) to ensure data accuracy.
  • Support operational and ad‑hoc reporting, including SLA and quality checks.
  • Reconcile contractual terms with deployed assets to determine renewal timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to SACM standards, policies, and tool usage.
  • Handle internal and external queries regarding asset and CI status.
  • Collaborate with Change Management, Release Management, Data Quality, and Tool Support teams.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Expertise in the Software Asset Management and Configuration Management lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes; ITIL Foundation required (higher levels a plus).
  • Experience in ITIL‑aligned organisations and familiarity with Change/IMAC processes.
  • Skilled in SAM and CMDB tools, including auto‑discovery solutions.
  • Experience with software compliance, licensing, and vendor contract terms.
  • 3+ years of experience in Software Asset or License Management.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Ability to assess options and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Fluent in English and German (must‑have).
