Your role
As a Category Manager, you will play a critical role in our procurement team, responsible for strategically managing and optimizing the procurement of goods and services within specific categories (IT). You will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to develop and execute category strategies that drive cost savings, improve product quality, and enhance supplier relationships. Your expertise in procurement, market analysis, and supplier management will be essential in achieving our company's procurement goals and objectives.
Your tasks
- Develop and implement Global category strategies that align with the company's overall procurement goals and objectives. Identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze market trends, and assess supplier performance within the category.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Lead the sourcing and procurement processes for assigned categories. Identify potential suppliers, conduct competitive bidding, evaluate proposals, and select suppliers based on predefined criteria.
- Continuously monitor and analyze category costs. Implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier performance. Track and report cost savings achieved.
- Collaborate with various departments, including operations, finance, and product development, to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with business objectives. Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and assess potential risks within the category, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or compliance concerns. Develop mitigation plans to minimize risks.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for category management, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency.
Your profile
- Around 10 years of relevant work experience and proven experience in IT software and hardware, IT infrastructure and Saas category management.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and market insights to make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
