YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Backup Administrator to oversee and manage the backup and recovery infrastructure of our organization. The Backup Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that all critical data is securely backed up, recoverable, and meets retention and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with enterprise backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and data protection strategies.

YOUR TASKS

• Administer and maintain enterprise backup systems (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, IBM Spectrum Protect).
• Design, implement, and manage backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies.
• Monitor and ensure successful completion of backups, addressing failures and performing root cause analysis for any issues.
• Perform regular restores and recovery testing to validate backup integrity and compliance with disaster recovery plans.
• Maintain and manage offsite backup storage and ensure secure data transfer and storage practices.
• Implement and monitor backup encryption and data protection strategies to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with system and database administrators to ensure proper backup and restore procedures for business-critical applications.
• Provide on-call support for critical backup failures, restorations, and disaster recovery scenarios.
• Monitor backup storage capacity and forecast future storage needs based on growth and usage trends.
• Document backup processes, configurations, and disaster recovery plans.

YOUR PROFILE

• 2+ years of experience in backup administration and data protection.
• Experience with enterprise backup software (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, IBM Spectrum Protect).
• Solid understanding of backup and recovery best practices, including full, incremental, differential, and synthetic backups.
• Hands-on experience with backup technologies and storage systems (e.g., tape libraries, cloud storage, disk-to-disk backups).
• Knowledge of backup encryption, compression, and deduplication technologies.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Experience with managing backup policies, scheduling, retention, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for backup failures and restoration issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
•  Very good verbal and written French language
