Mainframe System Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL and JCL/PRC, along with experience in IMS and DB2 databases. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in technical analysis and documentation, and familiarity with tools like File Manager and IWS Scheduler.

This role requires domain knowledge in Cards, specifically General Ledger and Financial Accounting. Experience in the retail industry is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and JCL/PRC.

• Perform technical analysis and research to support business requirements.

• Document technical solutions and analysis clearly and effectively.

• Work with IMS and DB2 databases for data retrieval and manipulation.

• Utilize File Manager for file handling and data management.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery.

• (Optional) Use IWS Scheduler for job scheduling and batch processing.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL/PRC

• Experience with IMS and DB2 databases

• Strong technical analysis and documentation skills

• Familiarity with File Manager

• Understanding of IWS Scheduler (nice to have)

• Domain expertise in Cards – General Ledger and Financial Accounting

• Knowledge of the Retail industry (nice to have)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Salary Transparency

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $90000 to 100000/ year.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
