We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Security Vetting Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting security vetting and clearance processes for our organisation, ensuring that all employees and contractors are cleared to work with sensitive information.

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time and will be expected in the office up to 3 days a week. 

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including:  identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service) 

Your role

 

  • Conducting security vetting and clearance processes for employees and contractors 

 

  • Managing ongoing security clearance reviews for existing employees and contractors 

 

  • Analysing security clearance investigation reports and making recommendations to management 

 

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date security clearance records and documentation 

 

  • Collaborating with internal teams and government agencies to ensure compliance with security clearance policies and procedures 

 

  • Staying up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations related to security vetting and clearance processes

The Apprenticeship in Business Management is a four year, work based degree delivered by the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) as the apprenticeship provider. The programme develops knowledge and practical management skills progressively from Cert HE to BA/BSc (Hons) level. Learners build strong foundations in business, finance, marketing, HR, and organisational management in Years 1 and 2, before advancing to subjects such as entrepreneurship, strategic HRM, operations, change management, and interpersonal communication in Year 3. The final Honours year focuses on business strategy, global management, innovation, employee relations, and a work based project that applies learning directly to the workplace. 

 

Designed to fit around employment, the course is delivered through a combination of workplace learning, online tutorials, and case studies, supported by UHI’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Teaching is contextualised to the apprentice’s role, with support from academic staff and a workplace mentor, and assessment based on real workplace evidence, allowing learners to earn, learn, and achieve a degree without leaving their job. 

 

During your first week, you will meet inspiring individuals, witness our team dynamics, and explore the stimulating projects that will influence your career.   • Basic IT/MS Office skills 

 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

 

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 

 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately 

 

  • Ability to deliver a consistent & high-quality customer focused service to relevant stakeholders 

 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

 

  • Interest of relevant laws and regulations related to security clearance processes (full training will be provided) 
 

Entry Requirements

 

3 SQA Highers at C or above or the equivalent

Your security clearance

 

Security Check (SC) Clearance 

 

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.  

 

To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements. 

 

Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality. 

 

Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.
