Senior Python Developer

Your Role

As a Senior Python Developer with Capgemini, you will play a key role in the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of scalable software solutions. You will leverage your extensive experience in Python development to deliver high-quality applications, drive technical excellence, and contribute to architectural decisions. Working within a complex ecosystem, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions that meet business needs.

In this role you will:

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize software applications and services using Python and related frameworks, following established architecture and development standards.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable, and efficient software solutions.
• Develop and integrate APIs, microservices, and backend components while ensuring seamless interoperability with internal and external systems.
• Create, execute, and maintain automated unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Participate actively in software architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions and technology selection.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices related to performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and DevOps initiatives to optimize software delivery processes.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, API specifications, deployment procedures, and operational guides.
• Mentor junior developers, support knowledge-sharing initiatives, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices.
• Collaborate closely with architects, business analysts, project managers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Your Profile

• Minimum 8 years of overall IT experience and at least 5 years of professional Python development.
• Excellent knowledge of Python and modern development frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar.
• Proven experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, performance optimization, and scalable application design.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and ORM frameworks.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra is considered an asset.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (PyTest, UnitTest), code quality tools, and software development best practices.
• Experience with source control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform) is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of message brokers and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, etc.) is an advantage.
• Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and propose innovative, scalable solutions.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile and international, multicultural environments.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English.
