IT Category Manager

Your role
- Develop and implement Global category strategies that align with the company's overall procurement goals and objectives. Identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze market trends, and assess supplier performance within the category.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies within the assigned categories. Use market insights to make informed procurement decisions and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Lead the sourcing and procurement processes for assigned categories. Identify potential suppliers, conduct competitive bidding, evaluate proposals, and select suppliers based on predefined criteria.
- Continuously monitor and analyze category costs. Implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier performance. Track and report cost savings achieved.
- Collaborate with various departments, including operations, finance, and product development, to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with business objectives. Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and assess potential risks within the category, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or compliance concerns. Develop mitigation plans to minimize risks.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Promote a culture of ethical procurement practices.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for category management, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. Master's degree as an asset.
- Proven experience in IT software and hardware, IT infrastructure and Saas category management, and minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic, creative, and goal-driven thinking.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and market insights to make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
