Your Role

 

As a COBOL Developer within Capgemini C&CA (Cloud & Custom Application), you will work on mission-critical core banking applications, contributing to the development, maintenance, and evolution of mainframe systems for enterprise clients in the Financial Services sector.

You will be part of structured teams and participate in complex projects within regulated environments, with a level of responsibility and autonomy aligned with your experience.

In this role you will:

  • Developing and enhancing COBOL applications, working on mainframe systems within the banking and insurance sectors.
  • Managing Application Maintenance activities, including corrective and evolutionary maintenance, issue analysis, and support for service continuity.
  • Collaborating with functional analysts and application teams, helping translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Supporting testing, deployment, and post-go-live activities, ensuring application quality, reliability, and stability.

Your Profile

 

  • You have an interest in and expertise in software development on mainframe systems, with a structured approach and strong focus on quality.
  • You share the values of boldness, trust, and teamwork, and thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
  • You demonstrate reliability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to complex enterprise environments, with increasing autonomy according to your level of seniority.
  • You have hands-on experience with COBOL and Mainframe (z/OS) environments, including knowledge of key batch and online processes and the application flows typical of core systems.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Experience working in international and multicultural environments using Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring developers, and contributing to architectural decisions is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French is a real plus.
