ETL Data Tester

Your Role

You will be responsible for designing and implementing automated data validation frameworks to ensure data integrity, constraint enforcement, referential integrity, and schema validation. The role includes performing database and stored procedure testing to validate business rules, transaction handling, and error scenarios. You will build automated reconciliation solutions for source-to-target validation, record counts, field-level comparisons, and exception reporting. Additionally, you will define and execute end-to-end ETL/ELT testing strategies, covering data ingestion, transformation, loading, incremental and full load logic, and rerun scenarios, while working on platforms like Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS. You will also design and maintain automation frameworks using Python and .NET/C#, develop reusable libraries, and integrate testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. The role requires close collaboration with Data Engineering and DevOps teams, validation across SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB, and contributing to data quality standards, root cause analysis, and mentoring team members.

Your Profile

You should have 6+ years of experience in data testing, ETL testing, or data quality engineering with strong expertise in Python and SQL, including database validations and stored procedures. Experience with ETL tools like ADF and SSIS, along with exposure to CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, is essential. You should be familiar with both relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB. A strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and end-to-end pipeline testing is required, along with knowledge of automation frameworks, distributed systems, and large data processing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to work in Agile environments and mentor junior engineers, are key to success in this role.
