SDET Java Automation with Playwright

Your Role

We’re seeking a hands-on SDET who can design scalable automation frameworks, build robust UI and API tests, and drive quality engineering practices across the SDLC. You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure reliable, high-quality releases.

  • Design, build, and maintain UI automation using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) and Selenium WebDriver (Java).
  • Develop API automation (REST/SOAP) with Rest Assured or equivalent libraries.
  • Create modular, data-driven, and BDD test suites (e.g., Cucumber) with clean code and reusable components.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) with reporting and gating.
  • Define test strategies and shift-left quality practices with developers and product owners.
  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing; contribute to performance and security checks when needed.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for test data setup and backend validation (Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQL Server).
  • Troubleshoot flaky tests, analyze failures, triage defects, and drive root cause analysis.

Your Profile

  • Maintain test documentation (test plans, cases, coverage, traceability) and ensure alignment to Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
  • Track and communicate quality metrics (coverage, defect density, escape rate, MTTR) to stakeholders.
  • Strong programming skills in Java (OOP, collections, streams, exceptions, design patterns).
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Playwright (selectors, waits, fixtures, parallel execution).
  • Proficiency with build tools (Maven/Gradle) and version control (Git, branching, PR reviews).
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum, user stories, acceptance criteria, and shift-left testing approaches.
  • Strong debugging skills, clean coding practices, and ability to review test code as rigorously as production code.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management.
